Akli'e' the Master Blaster

We have a new addition recently to our family: Akli'e' Chan Bevacqua.

He was born on August 2nd at 4am in Sagua Managu. At birth, he was 7 lb. and 12 oz. and 21 in. tall. He is now currently 2 months old, and weigh 14 lb. and 6 oz. and 24.5 in. tall.

With Akli'e' in the house, Sumahi is frequently fighting for attention, and became even worse as the Terror that she already was. Although Sumahi is jealous of her little brother, there's no doubt that she loves him dearly, for she would always ask for Akli'e', asks to kiss and hug him, and loves to yell "Bula take' guini!" (There's a lot of poop) whenever I change Akli'e's diaper.

Though out the years, we had given Sumahi many nicknames, and the same goes for Akli'e'.

He is:
Sachin (Daddy's favorite cricket player)
the Master Blaster (describing the frequent and powerful pooping action)
the Sleeping Dragon
the Eating Monster
Chelu ('brother' in Chamorro)
La-E-E (the way Sumahi pronounces his name)
Huang Zhong (one of the Five Tiger General of Shu in the 3 Kingdoms Era of China)

Sumahi the Infamous

Sumahi has three notorious names that I regularly use when describing her antics.

She is...

1. The Ruiner of Silences

2. The Obstructor of Tasks

3. The Interferer of Gatherings

Sumahi and the JBs

Sumahi doesn't just look like her Auntie Alina, she also takes after her in terms of musical taste. Sumahi really enjoyed the Jonas Brothers 3-D Movie, dancing around and rubbing her belly with one hand as if she's playing a guitar.

There's no word yet, whether or not Sumahi will soon become a Twilighter like her Auntie.

If you are a true geek then you will know...

Sumahi the Door Swinger

Like most kids her age, Sumåhi is obsessed with things appearing and disappearing.

She loves doors, and constantly forces everyone around her to operate and act as if they are doors, performing actions repeatedly and reliably, just like the way a door opens and closes. This is the case whether its climbing up and down stairs, playing peek-a-boo, or throwing things and making you bring them back to her.

Sumahi the Alina Clone

Sumåhi looks so much her auntie Alina did when she was her age. They even have the same silly expressions, like this one.

Sumahi is Getting Ready for Christmas!

Sumahi is getting ready for Christmas! Here's a photo of her decorating a Christmas tree. Unfortunately, the number of ornaments she destroyed is way greater than the number of ornaments she placed on the tree.

Sumahi's Terminology 101 -- wooh wooh

I have been reluctant to post on the blog since I have no new photo of Sumahi (Daddy has been hogging all the phototaking opportunities.) But I thought it would be fun to do a little "Sumahi's Terminology 101".

First Lesson - Wooh Wooh

I first started teaching Sumahi the word "Wooh Wooh" (okay, it's not exactly a word.. but...) when she discovered my parents pet dog, Sophie. So I would point to Sophie and said "Sophie Wooh Wooh". "Wooh wooh" is suppose to be the imitation of the barking sound of the dog, so when ever we saw a dog passing by, I would point to it and said "Wooh wooh". And Sumahi picked that up very quickly. Later, she would point to a cat and said "Wooh wooh" for she could not tell the difference between dogs and cats. ( I have one dog, two cats, and a whole bunch of chicken that just comes in and out of my yard and front porch like it is their own home.) However, the word soon lost its original meaning when Daddy got involve with "Wooh wooh". Daddy used it as a trick to have Sumahi warm up to him when he first got back, since Sumahi is often very excited about "Wooh wooh". So Daddy would take her and just point at every random thing and say "Wooh wooh". Unfortunately, Sumahi picked that up from Daddy, and now she would say "Wooh wooh" to just anything, now the word simply means "Look! There's something interesting."

17 Months

For her 17th birthmonthday, Sumahi went to Underworld World in Tumon and scared all the fishes by yelling and running all over the place.

She now has 12 teeth and uses any opportunity to use them or show them off to people.
